the house.

a quick note:

buying a house has not been on my list of things to do.
i have a life to live, stories to tell, experiences to gather.

caring for a house is not what you do when there is still life left.
caring for a house is what you do when you’re ready to plant tomatoes and sit between the bushes on the stone bench remembering the loves you’ve traveled the world with and the children you’ve made smile.
the house is what happens when there is nothing left in the world to see. when you’ve fallen in love for the last time.

but who am i kidding?
some of you will never see the world. some of you will settle for the man/woman at the grocery store at the end of your block.
so the house makes sense.

live on.

Well, with your logic…you’ll never buy a house, because there will ALWAYS be life left to live. For some, buying a house will be the beginning of the life that you speak about. Its the place that holds all of those memories. Its the place you always return to after you travel away. Its your anchor.

A house is a place where one creates life, a place to create positive energy…it’s where your heart is. Once this process begins, it no longer is a house…its a home. Why? Because its where you’ve began to plant the seeds that will bear fruits that you will need later in life. You tend to like you would yourself. It is, after all, an extension of you.

    1. definitely a great observation. and it’s fine that a house can be all of those things. I definitely agree, but what becomes a problem is when they believe it can ONLY happen there. feel me?

Yeah, I feel you. However, for some, that is the only way that it can happen. There are some who were, in fact, “Born This Way”. It comes just as natural to them as writing comes to you. Its what they were born to do, not conditioned, but born to do it. You know why? Because there are a lot of people, just like you, who need a place to call “home”, even if its only temporary. They may not know where you are at all times, but you know exactly where they are. When things fall apart on your journey of examining your life or you need a break…you know where to go. Their purpose in life is making sure that you’re able to live and examine yours…freely.

Classic Yin and Yang…one can’t exist without the other.
